The Far Pavilions by M.M. Kaye
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
The first 600 pages or so I couldn't put this book down, and the last 200-300 pages I couldn't wait to put it down. So it was a strange experience. I felt like it would have been a much stronger book if it ended when the romantic tension was resolved. Instead it kept going on for basically another whole book that delved into the history aspect.
To read or not to read? I can't say--but you would probably enjoy this if you like history and you want a big book for the summer.
